LITTLE FLOWER ART SHOWING.

Little Flower is one of my favorite cafes in Pasadena and the owners, Christine & Pam are two of the most genuinely talented & vibrant people I know. About a month ago I approached them about potentially displaying my photographs at their shop and was over the moon when they said yes!

I had been working on a series that involved capturing my favorite spots in my native town of Pasadena, without looking like a typical tourist guide.  I shot black and white film (Ilford SFX 200) and enlarged and printed each frame in a black and white darkroom.  What I love about them is that they have a high contrast and symmetrical quality that pulls it all together into one collective series.

Christine and Pam had an art showing for me last Sunday, which included a jewelry designer selling really beautiful handmade and vintage pieces, along with a clothing designer showing "sensible chic" women's clothing.  The evening was extremely special to me - family, friends and strangers all showed up to support and I can't express how grateful I am to everyone. What a fun night!!

(A big thank you to PM for helping me hang everything on the wall. I would have lost my mind had I attempted it alone)

Six of the twelve prints are now for sale online (unframed) along with a handful of my favorite postcards.
If you're looking for a special gift this holiday for your Pasadena friends and family, wander on over!

If you've never been to Little Flower  head over and try their pumpkin bread pudding - WOW, it's delectable & the homemade sea salt caramels are addicting. (1422 W. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA).
